[Source] Gold plated screws and nuts

Hello All

Just wondered whether anyone has an address for tiny stainless and
gold plated (optical?) screws and nuts. Any recommendations would be
just wonderful.

Many thanks
Christel van der Laan

Hi Christel,

I believe Reactive Metals has tiny gold plated (22K) bolts, nuts and
washers. But I don’t think they have stainless ones. You can check
them out at http://www.reactivemetals.com.

Beth

Hello Christel,

I’ve ordered heaps of mini machine screws in stainless steel from
McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com), sizes #000 and up. Their selection
is good, prices fair to excellent and their customer service is
adequate. Other sources for same include microfasteners.com and
smallparts.com both of whom I’ve ordered from and was satisfied
overall. I realize these aren’t “optical” sizes but there you go.

Another source for optical screws that comes to mind is ebay. Some
sellers there will offer watch screws by the bucket. Another source
is S. LaRose Inc at slarose.com though I haven’t ordered from them
yet.

I seem to remember that Reactive Metals had gold and silver plated
stuff … yup, they still do. You’ll find them at

You might also want to check out http://microfasteners.com. Also, if
you have a local hobby shop, they might carry the stainless screws &
nuts.
