I am a tropical biologist/primatologist who also makes wildlife based
jewelry and sculptures. I market my pieces and a portion of each
sale is contributed to rainforest conservation. My dilemma concerns
the use of metals (silver and gold). Mining creates major
environmental pollutants and destroys living communities. Does anyone
know of an eco-friendly source of these metals (especially silver)
and/or foundries that use recycled metal? I would appreciate any
