Asking the question is superflous… the answer you wish for WILL be
provided either true or false.
Why not ask for Conflict free $'s when receiving payment for work
done or goods sold?

I usually go one further. Anytime I pay for something and the
merchant pulls out his “super duper counterfeit revealer pen” to
check to see if my money passes, I pull my own pen out of my pocket
and check the change they give me back. Have left a few clerks
stupefied by the concept.
If you choose to try this, be certain to keep a stone face
especially if there are other customers nearby. wink! j
