Ganoksin Project you always wanted to know about but never dared to

What does Ganoksin mean?

Ganoksin is a Thai word. In Thai Ganok means pure gold, Sin
means art, and together they can be thought of as meaning ‘The
Art of Gold’.

Born:

The Ganoksin Project was established 1995-1996 in Bangkok

The Ganoksin Logo:

The logo was designed by Eran Shakine, an Israeli artist. It
represents human culture and existence. It is almost a blending
of the selves. It represents nature and the universe. You will
find a stylized tree, human figure, fresh leaves, moon and the
sun. It also might be looked as the connection between an
individual and his culture.

The Servers:

We are running two servers:

  1. Tethys is our main server running a 64-bit quad-core cpu,
    with 4 GB RAM.

  2. Soi11 is our test server running a Pentium 4 with 2.6 GHz cpu
    with 1 GB of RAM

Bandwidth:

Our bandwidth is 3 Terabytes per DAY!! (3,000,000 megabytes!!)

Backup:

We are practicing a DAILY OFFSITE (RAID) complete site backup!

An illuminating post, very relevant for me, because for the past two
weekends I’ve attended a class on starting a small business. When the
discussion moved to networking, and I heard how little many of the
others had to say, and how in the dark they were about some aspects
of the businesses they wanted to start, I realized just how much I

One thing I would love to know is: how do you correctly pronounce
Ganoksin? Is it GAN-ox-sin or gan-OX-sun or ??? Because I don’t know
how to pronounce it, I usually just call it Orchid.

I thank you for this wonder treasury of metalsmith and lapidary
facts, lore, hints, and tips. And I thank you especially for the
