Soldering with MAPP gas and oxygen

Hello, Is it possible to solder with MAPP gas and oxygen? I
understand the flame is very hot. Is it possible to melt gold for
casting with this combination of gas/oxy.? Sheridan from Chicago

Sheridan,

Yes, it is possible to solder and melt noble metals with MAPP and
O2. If you add O2 to the MAPP it will problably give you several
thousand degrees. It is expensive however and you can probably
accomplish the same thing with propane and air! In fact, many people
use simple propane which burns quite a bit lower in temp then MAPP.

Yes you can cast with that combination and if your torch has
regulators you can also solder.
