Soldering Pewter

Laura, yes, you can solder pewter sheet together. The sheet melts at
such a low temperature, though, that it’s a really touchy process. I
made a 3" x 3" x 5" cone-shaped vessel with a tightly fitted lid.
Held the parts together with binding wire. I used the lowest
temperature plumbing solder I could find, but there might be
something more appropriate. Much cussing, but in
the end, it looked great. -Dana Carlson

An acquaintance has a pewter eagle that has broken off the top of a
stein. It is not the lift lever. Does anyone know of someone in the
New York -Long Island area who could repair this?
