Soldering jump rings onto pewter

If I wanted to solder a jump ring onto pewter, is it possible to use
a lead free solder that is also used in stained glass? I understand
that using that king of solder would involve a solder iron instead of
a torch.

Liz,

I solder jump rings onto pewter all the time. You can use Stay-Brite
solder or any solder that melts below 500 degrees F and use a
soldering iron. If you use a torch, the pewter will melt into a
blob.
