FYI- The 2001 Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) Conference
will be coming to Richmond, Virginia February 28th through March 3rd
2001. The co-chairs for hosting this event are Jim Meyer and Annie
Publow. Jim Meyer is chairman of the Crafts department at Virginia
Commonwealth University (VCU). A meeting was held at VCU last night to
start setting the wheels in motion for this event. It was pretty
exciting to be in this meeting of so many of Virginia’s finest
jewelers and metal smiths. Virginia would like to make this one of
Snag’s best conferences. I hope that all interested parties will
attend.

This forum lights my day and puts me in a good direction for my work.
Thanks to all of you.
For the individuals that are planning to attend the 2001 Society of
North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) conference in Richmond, Virginia USA,
2-28-01 to 3-3-01, please be aware of the tours of the refiners Hoover
& strong Inc. The tours are by sign up reservation only and are on a
first come first serve basis. A total of 240 tour spaces will be
available so please sign up early. A few local conference volunteers
went on a practice tour yesterday and I was lucky enough to be one of
them. Folks let me tell you that after being a goldsmith for 31 years
this was one of the most exciting and mind expanding experiences of my
career.
