Hi all,
Camosun College is no longer offering silversmithing courses
which really is a shame. However the instructor Judith Hirczy is
doing so on her own. Here is the outline:
(Starts Sept. 27) - Beginners concentrate on use and care of
tools, learn how to solder and basic silversmithing techniques,
including stone setting, piercing, cuttle bone casting and
charcoal block casting, and will create unique pieces of
jewellery of their own design.
(Starts Sept. 28) Advanced students explore specialized
jewellery making techniques such as scroll work, etching,
forging, engraving, enamelling.
Courses run 10 evenings, 7:00 - 9:30 Cost: $150.00 Day classes
and individual instruction possible. Students must have their own
tools and materials (list provided at start of course) Location

Sorry for the short notice, Judith is usually flexible on
starting people a week or so late. I have taken both courses from
Judith and can personally recommend them.
