Silver scrap refiner

I have a few pounds of silver scrap that I need to send to a refiner.
I haven’t done this in a long time and can’t remember who I used
before. Does anyone have a recommendation? I want to exchange for
silver wire and sheet.

Thanks…Diana

Diana, I have been using Precious Metals West for some time and like
their service. Google on line and talk with Daniel. No affiliation,
just a satisfied customer.

Cheers, Don.

Hi Diana,

You might want to contact Hauser and Miller (hauserandmiller.com) in
St Louis or Hoover and Strong (hooverandstrong.com) in Richmond VA.
Both have been in business for a looong time & are well respected.

You may be able to find other refiners in you own area if you try.

I highly recommend midwest refineries. They are fast, and they pay
90% for silver:

You can get a check, bank wire, or bars/coins rounds.

This is a great time to send it in. I sent in almost a pound last
week and got my check yesterday. I think I hit the $24 silver spot
price, yay!

Try Hauser & Miller in St. Louis. They are wonderful!

Too bad you don’t have a rolling mill and an ingot mold. With those
you could take all your scrap and turn it into custom wire and sheet.
Other than the cost of the initial equipment, you’ll pay nothing to
convert your scrap into exactly what you need, when you need it…

If you are Canada, there is one in Markham Ontario call Imperial
Refinery, # is 877-994-7726, fax 877-954-7726 or
Imperialproducts.com

I use Hauser and Miller in St. Louis and they are fair and fast. They
offer a choice of credit for purchases or cash.

I have used Hauser and Miller in the past with good results however I
just used United Metal Refining in Alden N.Y. Not only do they have
the best prices I’v seen but they send you a prepaid fed-ex package
for your scrap. They also offer cash or metal but In shopping prices
Rio or IJS have the best sheet and wire prices I’ve been able to
locate. I also think you have the option of locking in prices when
the scrap is shipped or have it based on price at refining time. You
would need to talk to them about that they also have a minimum But
I’m not sure how much.
