Silver dip or cleaner won’t polish a piece, but it will remove the
tarnish. Connoiseur’s is a good brand; there are many out there. The
important thing is to thoroughly rinse and dry after using the
stuff-- it can re-tarnish worse than before if any residue remains on
the piece. It’s a type of urea that is the active ingredient, and
stinks like forty years of bad luck when being used.
