Charles suggested I reply to the query about Canadian prices for
sterling sheet. We don’t order huge quantities. On Dec.17, 1996
we had just over 1 kg of sterling sheet shipped to us from
Imperial Smelting & Refining in Toronto, at $366.756 (Canadian
dollars) per kg (about $273.07 US). I don’t know what that is
over spot. Can someone define “spot” for me?

Spot is the market price (as in stock exchanges) for the metal
that day. Usually in troy .oz
I believe spot on Mon. was $4.87. Spot is the world market
price. It is quoted dayly on the NY. stock exchange. It goes up
and down like a yoyo. The day you order it is the price you pay,
it does not matter what it does, up or down the day of delivery.
