How do you silver chain and components to make a silver chain bolo tie

Hello,

for a bolo tie, you would need:

  1. the chain/ braided leather/ cord

  2. the bolo element, designed with a “catch”…either behind or thru the element…a way to hold the chain/ cord with a way for it to “ride” up and down on the chain/ cord, with a bit of tension, so that it will maintain the position you want it to be at…you could buy a bolo catch finding (search online for “bolo tie findings supplies”)…or fabricate your own…

  3. end caps for the chain/ cord

looking online, i see many chain versions, using ball, snake, box chains…

there are many innovative and interesting ways to design the catch…and end caps

with a chain bolo, i would assume the end caps are soldered on…possibly after the element has be assembled and attached…
