Setting stones from the back

I’d like to set some flat stones from the back so I can put small detail pieces in the front bezel edge. How is this kind of setting done?

I have just soldered a bezel in the back or used prongs and tabs. You need to be careful that there is a smooth transition from the outside edge of the setting to the stone surface. Good luck…Rob

I have set a number of stones from behind, but apparently never bothered to take pictures. Following is the best that I can offer. It is a very thin Lapis cab riveted between two discs. The top has hole in it and it is contoured to follow the curve of the stone so that there is a smooth transition between the edge of the stone and the bezel…Rob
