[Service Improvement] anonymous FTP Server

Greetings;

Since no email attachments are currently allowed @orchid I have
created an anonymous FTP server for Orchid, From now on, If you guys want
to share files, picture of your current work or whatever, You may use any
FTP program to upload the files to:

ftp://ganoksin.com/incoming/ganoksin/

every 2 hrs the uploaded files will be automatically moved to

http://ganoksin.com/ftp/

and can be easily retrieved from the above
address using just your web browser.

It will help if every file that you upload would be accompany by
a text file describing its content and will have a meaningful
name.

I am kindly requesting you guys not to upload program files,
advertisements of any kind or any files that are not associated directly with Orchid.

I hope you find the new feature to be a useful addition to our community.

PS. I uploaded my own picture, for those of you who wondered how
do I look like :slight_smile: meet-hanuman.jpg

Hi all, In the spirit of Hanuman’s gesture, I put my picture
up as well… This is an experiment with ftp/get to know you
thing. Kinda fun.

Thanks for all your efforts, Dr. Aspler, Orchid just seems to
get better and better.

P.s.- The name of the jpeg is Marlboro because of a joke by some friends. It was actually
taken at the Pinnacles near Trona, CA while I was meeting some fellow Orchid members.

under, “meet-Lisa-Byzantia.jpg”…Hi everybody. For scale, I’ll tell you
that I’m 5’ 3", and I hate to have my picture taken. Time for the
rest of you to say hi back.

I lost the original post with the URL of the ftp in it. Someone
please give it to me. I want to see this!

Maybe that URL should go with the other Orchid URLs in the
bottom of the posts…

I added the FTP Server addresses to the list sig file.

To Upload use an FTP software pointed to:
ftp://ganoksin.com/incoming/ganoksin/

To Download just point your browser to: http://www.ganoksin.com/ftp

All right. I just sent you “meet_PeterRowe.jpg” 36K. taken
last fall by a friend when I wasn’t quite ready… Not the
greatest shot, but the only one I’ve got in jpg format at the
moment…

Sigh, moan, whimper. Ok I sent mine also along with my two best
friends. I’m with Byzantia - I hate to have my picture taken so
just look at Vern (as in, Yo, Vern) and Gracie (as in Gracie
Allen -because she is such a clown). This was the only one of
me I could find and my mouth is full of something I’m eating -
Chinese egg roll - I think.

So let’s see everybody else, too, like John Burgess, Alan, Richard,
Curtis…
