Along these lines, I have just used a company that provides upto
50,000 worth of insurance on packages sent via Fedex.
The process is simple and they do not handle the stock at all, but
just charge you insurance for the package carried by Fedex. You have
to adhere to their simple packing advice. Naturally the receiver is
liable for import taxes, so you may not bee keen to pay import taxes
when sending something to yourself !!! Although to carry them into
the country undeclared would also be illegal and there is a risk of
fine or worse (Of course this depends on which countries are
involved)
The company I have used is called oneservice.com and they have
multiple offices around the world. I haven’t had to make a claim from
them yet for a parcel that has gone astray so that is the real test
of how good they are…
