Gosh Dina, I’ve been wearing screw-back earrings most of my long
life and never experienced the problems you describe. Don’t lose
them and never had one fall apart. Even with arthritic hands, I
manage the on and off part perfectly well. Just my 2 cents, to be
fair. Not into body piercing.
