Scott Kays 19k yellow gold?

has anyone seen Scott Kays 19k yellow gold? any thoughts on it? does
anyone have any clue of a possible alloy combination that would make
this? i was wondering if I could just raise my current 18 yellow up a
percent and equally lower the alloyws.5% each? I dont know if this
would work and since I am not casting I cannot make under 1000dwt
pieces of it…so any suggestions would be great.

thanks in advance

Gimmick or not, there is a formula you can use. The carat you want
divided by 24, 19 divided by 24=.7916666. So if you were casting 10
grams, 10 times.79, I would use .8 fine gold and.2 or 2 grams of an
alloy used to make either 18kt or 22kt gold depending on the color
you want. Theoretically, 22kt alloy should give you a deeper yellow
look.

I’ve taken a jewelry lesson in Portugal and they only use 19.25k
gold, 800 or 80% gold. I can find out their alloy composition if you
need it. There is a significant difference in color than 18k, but
then the folks on Orchid have taught me how to get a fine gold look
to 18k. If I find the post, I’ll forward it.
