Sawing Adventure, among other aspects

So…I got this idea after the last project…it’s a slow burn. Plenty of time for things to percolate and mature. I haven’t tried sawing such tiny detail for about 45 years, but I have been sawing slightly larger (and much larger) detail the whole time, so it isn’t much of a stretch. Mostly a matter of using smaller blades (8/0) and using stronger Optivisors, and better lighting. Drilling smaller holes than I ever wanted to (a few hiccups there). I will do a full disclosure post when something is finished.

Beautiful piercing! Do you mind telling us what brand of blade you are using and what size drill bits?

Look like 8/0 in the post. Could be any size bit that allows the blade in.

Hi, Well, I normally love Platinum blades for sawing steel pancake dies, but those are discontinued (but I have a hoard) and only go down to 4/0, so I had to find other blades. I ended up with a gross of Antilope 8/0, which are fine for the job , but so far, almost every one has wanted to saw left about 25 degrees.

To the bits…the smallest holes here are #70. I had some #74 but broke them all; most grabbed the work and got stuck, which was a royal pain to deal with. Larger sizes for larger holes… 1/16" for the large holes on this bigger one.
