Recently I saw some beautifully finished platinum bands. They said
they used a ruby blast to finish. The ruby was finely granulated and
used like sand blast. Does anyone know more about this finish? Becky
Corundum sand is available from most major supply houses for your
sandblaster. It is composed primarily of crushed corundum and will
produce a slightly coarser finish then the regular sand.
Gesswein sells crushed ruby to be used in sandblasters.
