Rose Gold soldering

If you were to downsize a rose gold dome ring, what would you
use to solder the joint? Is there rose gold solder?

Thanks,
Bob B

Yes, there is Rose Gold Solder and thats what you should use;
AAA precious Metals, Inc. carries it 1-800-356-1423

There is rose gold solder, though the alloy I have doesn’t flow
very well. I usually make a very tight joint and solder it with
hard or medium plumb yellow solder.

Buck, Yes there is a rose gold solder. Suggest you contact
Stullers at 1-800-877-7777. They have it in 14k. Rose gold will
be in all shades of rose. It is therefore difficult to match it
perfectly. Make your seam very tight and the solder line will be
less noticable. I also believe that Hover and Strong also make a
red or rose solder. Good luck, Fred

In a pinch you can use (by weight) 1 part rose gold 3 parts ez
solder. This should match the joint correctly. I’ve used this
several times with hard to match gold colors by using the waste
from the cut down shank with good results. Jordan.

i agree this is good mix of solder…and much cheaper and
efficiante !

If all you do is size the ring down…just take the piece you cut
out…roll it paper thin…insert it into the seam and just weld
the ring…you will get a seamless sizing and a perfect color
match.Good luck Jurgen J. Maerz, PGI

Rose gold oxidizes rapidly- this may work, but use lots of flux.
The copper content also will probably make the alloy more
conductive to heat, so fusing may not work well.
