Reviving weak electrolyte

I was etching at 3 volts with nitric and after several peices the
mordant went dead. I tried to revive it with salt. Do I mix a new
batch. It just seems a waste.

Thank you in advance

It matters little whether you add more nitric acid or mix a new
batch. What you need is free nitrate ions. If your mordant is spent,
it’s spent and needs to be refreshed.
