Thanks David, Yes it is" irradiated" sorry for the miss spelling. I
am still getting different answers. I know GIA says they can take some
heat but, they do not say how much. A couple people emailed off list
said you could retip.Just make sure the stone is really clean and do
not use a hard solder. I had always heard what you said, stay away
from heat with these stones. I may give it a try and share my
