Removing yellow from Argentium after heat-hardening

Hello Orchidland,

Just wanted to share an “AHA” moment. After heat-hardening some AS
neck wires in the oven, they were that yellowish color. The wires
were too big to fit in my pickle pot, and frankly, I’ve not had the
best of success using pickle to remove the yellow. So, into the ionic
cleaner they went. ZAM! A few bubbles later, not a trace of yellow
and it happened so quickly.

If you’ve got an ionic cleaner, try it. Let me know if I was just a
lucky, one-timer.

A quick dip in hot alum solution works quickly, too. I use a Pyrex
dish and heat the solution in a microwave.

No need to attach alligator clip this way
