Removing patina from etched copper

I mistakenly used liver of sulfur on an etched copper piece prior to
attempting to solder the bezel on. Of course the liver of sulfur has
cooked(?) onto the copper. Is there anything I can use to remove it
without damaging the etching?

Reading the Orchid is one of my “must dos” in the morning, thanks to
all for sharing.

Hello Teresa,

Have you tried soaking in pickle? I also understand that rubbing
with vinegar and salt cleans copper.
