Removing Asphaltum

I am doing some acid etching of copper. I have finished etching and
want to remove the asphaltum I put on the back. I cannot remember
what to use. Rio is closed…so cannot ask them…Can anyone help?

Hi There,

I think you may be looking for mineral spirits it does a good job
and is a little less nasty than burning off the asphaltum with a
torch.
