Was: Large diamond substitute
Red emeralds - better called red beryl. I have two synthetic ones. Pretty too. There is natural red beryl - called bixbite. It is exceedingly rare, comes from a mine in Utah
How odd the timing! I am just now finishing two red beryls for a
collector customer, one lab grown and one natural! The manganes that
colors these is much more vibrant than the chromium of ruby…just a
slight tinge of magenta. Among the lab grown materials, red beryl is
my favorite!
