If you add all copper you get a red gold, all silver is a green.

Brilliantissimo! Just what I was going to say. I’ve found the
customers like the term ‘rose’ gold. I know it probably refers to
a copper/sil mix of about 3:1, but I call my red gold rings (no
silver) rose gold and they like it. I’ll say almost anything for
sales!

hi calgang, i’m not sure what a 1/4 piece of gold is,
soooo…here is the general idea: if one wants red gold use all
copper. if one wants green gold use all silver. it is wise to
put some small % of copper in the green alloy becaus using all
silver to alloy your gold may yeild a gold alloy that is too
soft for some uses. best regards, geo fox

thanks Brian… Shall have to give it a try and that saying it
is rose gold would surely do the trick for me… Sounds lucious…

Dear george debbie… If I just use silver and gold I will have
12k gold so I shall have to add a litttle copper…Right??? (1\4
gold and 1\4 silver (Fine silver) is the recepie for 12k gold…
i think I am saying 1\2 gold and 1\2 Fine silver makes 12k gold
which is a white gold. It is lovely and soft looking… Takes
gold granules beautifully… Thanks calgang

hi calgang, your recipe of 50% gold and 50% silver does make 12k
but i think you should check your color. this is a recipe for
green gold and being poor in copper, would take granulation very
well. i also agree with you, it is lovely and soft looking, but
it is green.

i’m not so good with fractions but i’m ok with % or for
generalities: 1 part this and 2 parts the other.

best regards,
geo fox
