Regarding the saftey of various gasses, I think (and hope) most
of us go out of our way to be cautious, but those of you who use
acetelyn in your homes (basement or otherwise) might want to
check your insurance policy. I know of one case where the storage
and use of acetelyn negated the insurance company’s financial
responsibility. Acetelyn was in the same clause as "damage due to
acts of God, and military invasion.
