Does anyone know of a web based or mac friendly program to help
manage a small production company? I would like something to manage
invoicing and accounts reveivable, as well as generating production
reports, backorders etc. I only have 4 employess, so it doesn’t need
to be too elaborate. Any help would be great.

FileMaker 8 is a great database software but you’ll have to create
it… the possibilities are endless… It works on both Mac and PC’s

I am a fan of Atrex by Millenium Software. You can download a full
working demo at their website. Atrex.com.

I have been using it for years and it is simple and straightforward.

Nothing like being able to try before you buy.

Dear Catherine,

A product called MYOB- Mind Your Own Business, may work for you. We
are Mac based and have used it for several years now. It is great
for building product and keeping track of inventory. Inventory is
connected to invoicing and purchases, so once you buy or sell
product, it keeps track of your inventory level pretty seamlessly. It
produces pretty nice reports for most all aspects of the business
side of things too, and that has been helpful for us. We are using
the version called Account Edge.

Setting everything up was tedious and a bit difficult- I’m not at
all accounting minded, so I did need an occasional guiding hand from
a bookkeeper friend of mine, but I have very few problems with it now
that we’re set up.

Hi, you are correct filemaker 8 is great… I am a filemaker
developer and worked in good jewelry manufacturing companies.
Specially in Lazurde Gold - Saudi Arabia and Adams Gold Uk.
