Newbie here 
I’ve started up making some jewelry pieces from my home and I’ve
been asked about engagement rings. My main concern is about the
prices I should pay for a diamond. I’ve see blue nile and union
diamond but I wonder how close to trade prices they are (how much
they’re marked up). I’d like to be able to offer any clients decent
prices and not have to add margins onto a stone which has already
been elevated in price. I know about the rapaport guide and have seen
a version online. I’m tempted to subscribe but I want to make sure
I’m not being taken for a ride:
or is there another way of getting access to guide prices on loose
stones?
