Post service responsibility

Hi,

I just remembered a story that was in a UK newspaper quite a while
ago about a woman jeweller who sent a few rings up to London by
registered mail to have some work done…Postman got mugged and
parcel was lost… Bad luck. Post service denied being responsible
and the “insurance” of the parcel was invalid because theft wasn’t
covered! Well of course the poor jeweller was a little bit cross and
i presume took the matter to court. Just wondered if anyone has
heard the story and what the end result was (if solved yet)? ??
