Polishing botryoidal turquoise nuggets

I have a handful of beautiful lumpy turquoise nuggets, and I wish to polish them. Anyone have any suggestions for polishing and retaining the lumpy look? They are from Campitos and Nacozari mines.
I was considering tumbling them, but I read on the internet that turquoise is dicey to tumble polish. I believe that they are stabilized. I did try to polish one with Zam on a hard felt buff, but it took forever to get a low level shine. Also I was using a dremel knockoff tool. Would a loose muslim buff on a regular buffing machine work? Thanks in advance for any info.

I find that Zinc Oxide powder or Chromium Oxide powder do a dandy job of polishing stones like Turquoise, Malachite, and Opal.
I use a small buff on my flex shaft. It must be done wet so it’s messy but very effective at getting a lovely shine.
Have fun and make lots of jewelry.

Thanks, Jo. I will certainly give it a try.
