PMS Meeting at Touchstone

Attention Western PA Metalsmiths

Newcomers Welcome - If you have never been to a meeting this is a
great oppurtunity to meet some fellow Metalsmiths

PMS (Pittsburgh Metal Society) Meeting at Touchstone Center for the
Crafts Our next meeting will be at Touchstone Center for the Crafts
http://www.touchstonecrafts.com/nav.htm On Thursday 12 August 2004
at 6:00 PM on the lawn in front of the dining hall, near the fire
circle. Touchstone’s weekly auction will follow at 7:00 PM.

The auction includes pieces donated by the instructors and students.
Many nice pieces are always available at the auction; usually great
deals are there for the bidding. If you care to bring an item to add
to the auction, feel free, the proceeds benefit Touchstone.

The Jewelry instructor that week is John Cogswell, the class he is
teaching is “Distinctive, Diminutive Teapots.” Several of our PMS
members are taking John’s class that week and it seemed like a good
opportunity for our members to visit Touchstone (if they haven’t ever
been to this local treasure) or to reacquaint themselves with TCC
(many improvements in both the grounds and studios have taken place
over the past several years). We should have time to tour the Jewelry
Studio prior to the auction and check out the progress of the student
teapots (Oh the added pressure!).

This is also a good opportunity to meet John Cogswell, one of the
premier silversmiths of our time.

For those members and friends who have an interest in blacksmithing;
Touchstone has one of the top (if not the top) blacksmithing studios
in the country.

Hope to see you all there, it promises to be a great time.
