I see that there are clay extruders for PMC, but will PMC work with
a cake piping tips?

Thanks for any answers.

You can modify the syringe tips to make cake piping like tips.

Here’s a link to instructions for making your own extruder, for
$5.00 or less,

Instructions by Hadar Jacabson, and yes, you can use cake piping
tips with it.

I also like the Makin’s extruder, because it’s a screw press, and
you can extrude hollow tubes.

Yes, but as these are generally large and a lot of residue is left in
the bags, you would loose a lot of silver or spend a lot of time in
cleanup. Plus you would have to start with a huge amount of metal
clay–a typical cake piping tip will probably hold a whole package of
metal clay, so you would need quite a few packages to give you the
amount you would need to extrude through the cake piping tips. This
is why mc comes loaded in syringes for extruding. A variety of extra
tips are available or you can modify your own tips to match your
piping tips. The various disks for the extruders tend to match the
piping tips as well, don’t require a lot of clay to be stuck in a
cone (the piping tip), and are easy to clean and recover the unused
clay from.
