Can anyone tell me what pink ice is. I just ruined one and would like
to know what it is. I just finished my GIA courses and never heard of
it.

Thanks

Obviously another trade name. I believe pink cubic zirconia is
called “pink ice” by at least one manufacturer. I wish they’d knock
if off and call it what it is. Could be darn near anything, though.
I wonder why anyone would work on a stone while not knowing what it
is. That’s always a recipe for disaster.

Hi Steve;

Boy, are you lucky! If it really is “Pink Ice” and not some other
more pricey pink stone, you just toasted a pink Cubic Zirconia, a
real cheapo and easy to find. Pink Ice is just a cheezy marketing
name.

You might have to mortgage the house and beg the customer not to sue
you I bet she thinks that her pink ice is worth a fortune, Boy if
you could buy a couple carat stone for a couple of dollars you paid
to much. It is pink cz. Hope this puts your mind at ease

Steve, this is a name for pink CZ’s. If you ruined one and need
another, let me know what size it is and style, eg., oval, marquise,
etc., etc. I have lots of them and would be willing to send you one,
if I have the proper style and size you need.

Can anyone tell me what 'pink ice' is.

‘Pink Ice’ is Pink CZ (Cubic Zirconia) - a man-made stone. You should
be able to get a replacement stone fairly easily and inexpensively.

Last year at the Tucson Show the rage seemed to be Kunzite with many
dealers trying to buy large quantities. One of our coleagues is
taking large quantities of fine color calibrated Kunzite this year -
we hope that the rage continues.

Cheesy, and not even original. Drug dealers were peddling crystal
methamphetamine under the name “pink ice” years ago when I was
living in Detroit.
