Pierced wax cuff bracelet

I’m a beginner and have been experimenting with modeling wax/build
up wax. I would like to create a cast cuff bracelet that has a
fairly delicate pierced pattern with an organic-like textured
finish. (Think of a weathered, rustic looking carved Chinese wood
lattice screen). I have started with a piece of green sheet wax in 22
gauge. I plan to add wax build up to mimic the rustic, weathered
wood appearance. My questions are:

  • How thin is too thin for a pierced, cuff bracelet made out of sheet
    wax?

  • How do you sprue a piece like this?

  • Should I form the wax sheet into the cuff form first before
casting, or is it better to cast a flat sheet for the bracelet?

Thanks,
Serena
