Patination of 22k Gold

Hi All,

I’ve just made my first piece of jewellery in 22k gold, a pendant
set with a moonstone. I melted down a 22k wedding band style ring
I’ve had for a number of years and was a rich, dark yellow gold
colour, due to it’s age. Once melted down, made and polished up, the
gold is actually quite a lot lighter than I had anticipated. What I
wanted to find out is, is there a way of speeding up the aging
process to regain that old-gold colour? Has anyone had any luck with
Liver of Sulphur on high carat gold? Lavan
