Dear Orchidians,
At the risk of sounding like a pedantic schoolmarm, let me make a
plea for paragraphs in postings.
A great many of you have tremendous knowledge to impart. Sometimes,
however, the message doesn’t come across because of the simple
omission of paragraphs. I can’t tell you how much easier it is to
read and absorb text that is broken into paragraphs as opposed to
long, long passages of text that are not.
So, if you’re going to take the time to write such thoughtful and
thorough responses in the first place, why not do it in a manner that
encourages all of us to read them from beginning to end? The whole
idea is to communicate, after all, isn’t it?
