My customer has a man’s Pd 950 5mm wedding band that he wants to have sized down 1/2 size. He wants it compressed as opposed to cut and soldered. I have never compressed a Pd band but have done Au and Pd in the past. Can this be done and if so does it need to be annealed? Temp for anneal? Quench? Hope I am not over thinking this as I usually just go for it.

You should be fine, but take it slow. You can anneal it, heat it to a dull orange and hold it for about 30 seconds. But for just 1/2 a size I don’t think you will need to.
