I’m setting the stone on my first palladium engagement ring. It’s a
four-prong setting, and the prongs are 1.25 mm thick, with a round
cross section. The stone is a 1 ct round brilliant.
How deeply do I notch the prongs? I don’t know enough about the
properties of palladium, and I don’t want to weaken the prong by
notching too deeply.
