Oxidation after stone setting?

Hi,

After bezel setting a picasso marble stone in sterling, I decided
that I may want to use LOS on the piece. Is this possible? Would a
cotton swab be the way to go or just dip it? Will the stone change
color?

Donna

I wouldn’t dip it as the LOS would get behind the stone and may be
difficult to rinse out. I would use the cotton swab and repeatedly
apply the LOS until the desired effect was reached. Polish off the
areas where you don’t want the LOS patina and your done.

I would not put the stone into liver of sulfur. marilyn

G’day: dunno for sure, but marble usually contains some iron, and LOS
could change that to a grey or black.

Cheers for now,
