Overheated Sterling silver

Hello,

I believe when I cast some sterling silver this past weekend the
metal was acidentally overheated (perhaps >1900 F). I developed
many surface pits and internal voids in my pieces - especially large
sprue attached to the item. I am curious about using this silver
again in future castings - can it be re-used ? I am reluctant to
use it again, but would hate to see it all go to waste.

Thanks,
DH

DH, Do not reuse this is for another casting unless you are a risk
taker. Added to at least 50% fresh grain you may or may not get
desirable results. Why take the chance, Sterling is cheap enough.

Good Luck
