8 months ago, I relocated down to the Orlando area following the
death of my husband. We had a store in the Adirondacks of NY that I
had no option but to close after 20 years for the store and 37 years
for the business. At this time I am working for the Mouse 4 days a
week but find it hard to support myself on $8 per hour although I
must admit this was the best thing for me emotionally at the time. My
dog Cody and I would be willing to relocate anywhere in the US that’s
warm most of the year after my lease is up in June. At this time, if
I would be available for someone local 1 or 2 days a week, usually
midweek. I must admit, the dream position I hoped to get wasn’t
offered to me until I had already signed a one year lease, worked for
the mouse for more than a month and 2 hours of driving each way was
much to far to commute on a daily basis.
Background: Graduate Jeweler-Gemologist,(GIA) BS Chemistry, minors
Chem. Engineering, Mathmatics, and Technical Writing. In college, my
thesis for independent research was on Chemical & Temperature effects
on Crystal Growth. Jewelry Strengths: Retail to male customers
because I can talk structural details in jewelry design, detail work
at the bench, pearl & bead stringing. Making one of a kind pieces of
jewelry. Weakness: pave bead setting at the bench.
My Ideal position would be working in a lab growing I’d
be perfect from initial growing of gemstone crystals thru selling of
them at wholesale shows!
Please consider me should you have a pending opening.
