Orchidian Margaret Malm Passed Away

Dear Group, I got this letter from Margaret Malm’s family. We in
this great group knew and appreciated her and her chemical expertise
over the years. Thought some of you might like to respond to the
invitation to share your memories about her with her relatives. She
was never married and this one nephew and his wife and little girl
comprise about her whole family.

It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you of the death
of my wonderful Aunt Margaret Malm Saturday night 11/15 at
Hurricane Health & Rehab, after quite a struggle this year with
cancer.

I don’t know how she knew you, but since you are in her address
book I wanted to pass on the news. If you would like more
let me know.

There is a lot of Margaret’s life that I don’t know about, or
only glimpses. I would be so touched if you felt moved to tell
me how you knew her, or to tell me stories about her. If you’re
willing, I’d like to compile those stories & memories to share
somehow with all of you, as we will not be having a memorial.
Margaret’s wishes as I understand them were to have her ashes
scattered in her beloved Zion National Park, and we’ll have a
small family gathering for that this spring.

If you would like to express your condolences, donations in her
memory may be made to any National Park or naturalist
organization, in particular Zion National Park at

forward this email to anyone you know who knew Margaret. She is
loved, and will be missed.
