Orchid Tucson lodging project 2006

Hello All

Continue from

I have compiled that may be helpful for those looking
for lodging during the Tucson Show. The is provided in
good faith with no guarantee of availability or suitability of
accommodations.

Nearly 20 parties including about 30 individuals responded to my
original posting.

Those who replied to me were interested not so much in specific
amenities as in finding affordable clean accommodations. Some shared
comments about their previous accommodations. The few specific
negatives involved older “tired” rooms and only one report of a
dirty room. Perhaps inquiring about recent remodeling would provide
helpful in making a decision.

Although the list does not include all available lodging, there
should be sufficient to cover our needs. I intentionally did not
include major show venues.

Some listings include notes (if a breakfast is included;
availability of refrigerator / microwave in room). Some may be
available where they are not noted so inquire about whatever needs
are important to you.

The listing is not interactive; those interested must contact hotels
personally to make their arrangements. I have included toll free
numbers when known. The local numbers given will reach the hotel
operator or the reservation desk. The area code for Tucson is 520.

The arrangements for reserving a block of rooms at a discount
require a contract and our guarantee of occupancy for a specified
number of nights with penalties for default. I do not believe this
will be worthwhile for us given the numbers involved.

I hope that this will be helpful in bringing more of our Orchid
family to Tucson for the shows. I look forward to seeing you there.

Pam

I thank you very much for the regarding rooms in Tucson.
I was able to book my room and I look forward to the Orchid Dinner
meeting other jewelers and the show. I know one day isn’t going to
cover much for the show but I am very excited about it anyway.

Karen

Please inform me in which hotels are the rooms available where orchid

the same time by several organisers, which shows are recommended for
Silver Jewelry as a retailer?. I hope to receive every one’s thought
for the same, I shall look forward to meet other Orchid Members at
the Dinner!

If you don’t have rooms by now it will be very hard to get them and
almost impossible at show time.

Blake brothers is a good wholesaler for silver…They are usually on
the south side of town. mike

Emily, check out the list of places that still had space available
as of 10/21/05:

G’day; I wouldn’t if I were you; My wife and I stayed in one in
Queenstown NZ for a few days one summer - and wished we hadn’t; It
became stifling hot. The sun heated all the bottles which overheated
the inside of the place.

Cheers for now,
