Orchid T-Shirt, etc

#1

Hi, If you want to get noticed in the mobs you are going to have to do
something rather dramatic to get the attention. A pin/ badge sticker
is great when you are up close and personal but the rest of the time
even wearing a neon sign over your head is going to have trouble
pointing you out. The best bet is to plan a meeting time way ahead so
all who are interested can attend. I know that the other organizations
hand out little stands for the vendors to put somewhere in their booth
identifying them as members so if people with booths printed up the
Orchid logo and displayed it that may help a bit. Attendees are really
going to have a hard time finding each other in the crowds though
unless you all decide to wear Fuschia head to toe. Hah…I can see it
now… Ps…I don’t wear T’s at the Tucson show either but from my
experience it seems 90% of the other attendees do. Susan Sarantos

You’re absolutely right. I’ve changed my mind. Nobody is going to
notice a pin/sticker on a badge, at least not at the crowded shows I
attend. I think we have 3 things going on heRe: recognize fellow
orchidians, advertise the URL, and mingle. A pin is not going to cut
it so I am going to wear a lavendar T-shirt that says “Orchid List
www.ganoksin.com”. That will accomplish goals 1 & 2 and I confess that
I am one of those who wear comfortable T-shirts at the show anyway.
I believe goal #3 can only be accomplished with a pre-arranged meeting
place as during the show hours I shop 'til I drop and don’t want to
miss one minute!
