Orchid Graditude

I wanted to express gratitude for Orchid and Terrie Masters. My wife
is on supplemental oxygen 24/7 and it is expensive and a pain to
travel. There are FAA approved oxygen concentrators that allow
people with respiratory problem to travel. (Not all airlines allow
them, like Boo to United Airlines in particular.)

They are expensive to rent and expensive to purchase. I found one on
Craigslist with a Google search, it was in San Diego, so I asked if
there were anyone in San Diego, and two people responded.

Terrie responded that she would do whatever to help, so I contacted
the seller, sent the cash to Terrie and had her do the transaction. I
did gladly comp Terrie for her time. I purchased a used SeQual
Eclipse for my wife, usually about $4000 new, and 4 batteries that
are $350 each for a total of $1300. Terrie took it to the SeQual
factory which turned out to be in San Diego where she lives, it is
under warranty until 2009, it was overhauled and software updated and
shipped back to me at no cost by the company. The machine was only
used for 99 hours.

During the course of being in contact with Terrie we realized we had
met as I had gone to the CLASP conference on Sunday morning to meet
Orchid members as I was not attending the conference. The day the
SeQual was delivered, my wife smiled and said “Now I can go to
Hawaii”. She also mentioned something about me being her hero.

And that is why I have gratitude for for Orchid and Terrie.

Thanks Hanuman and Terrie!

Wonderful story! And great to know Terrie really stands behind her
"hugs"!

What a lovely story Richard and yes, Terrie is lovely. I hope your
wife is otherwise well.

I too have found a number of people on Orchid who have been very
happy to go out of their way to help on more than one occasion. It
truly is a friendly community and I can’t think what I did before I
found Orchid.

I’d love to one day be able to make it over to the States to meet
lots of you at an Orchid dinner.
