Note on arbor press/disk cutter

I got some responses saying that you can punch heavier stock than
what I posted.

True, you can. I have - but I was a puppy then…

The reason I recommended the 1 ton for up to 24 gauge, is that some
disc cutting sets go up to 1" in diameter… You will have enough
force to easily punch 24 gauge at 1" diameter. If you are young and
strong enough, I imagine that you could punch 16 gauge, 1" disks on
the 1 ton press. My recommendation was based on easy effort, and
extended periods of time doing it.

If you are not planning on punching much larger than 1/2" disks in
all gauges, the 1 ton will serve all of your needs.
