Is there a source for niobium casting grain that someone could recommend?
I’ve been working with niobium, and searching out niobium suppliers,
for a couple of years, and have never seen niobium casting grain.
Niobium melts at 4491*F, so I’m not sure you’d be able to even
generate enough heat to melt it, and it requires an inert atmosphere
or vacuum melt because it begins to oxidize at fairly low temps. As I
understand it, this metal is very difficult to manufacture into mill
products, and have not run across any sources for even having it cast
by a manufacturer. I’d call Reactive Metals and talk to them about
